Nirvana

I only learned about the real meaning of Nirvana yesterday. I knew Kurt Cobain even before this, maybe a year earlier or so. I learned about his suicide note through a friend of mine. And reading Letters to the Dead, I get to know him a little more.

Nirvana is a place of perfect peace and happiness, free from suffering, oblivion to pain and worry.

And it all made perfectly sense why people would always say I want to go to Nirvana (if that’s how people put it).

Seeing all these things interconnected to Kurt, I am suddenly interested in bands. I’m not really the one who’s into bands but I guess I’ll give Nirvana a try.

I’m currently listening to Come As You Are.

when someone tells you, “i love you,” and then you feel, “oh, i must be worthy after all,” that’s an illusion. that’s not true. or someone says, “i hate you,” and you think, “oh, god, i knew it; i’m not very worthy,” that’s not true either. neither one of these thoughts hold any intrinsic reality. they are an overlay. when someone says, “i love you,” he is telling you about himself, not you. when someone says, “i hate you,” she is telling you about herself, not you. world views are self views—literally.
